International Summer School on Geospatial Data Analysis and Modeling with R

This is the website for information on the International Summer School on Geospatial Data Analysis and Modeling with R generously funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The summer school is hosted by the GIScience department of Jena and will take place in the last week of August (25 August to 1 September 2019)

This is a fantastic opportunity for students, PhD students and Postdocs for at least two reasons: First, the summer school will deliver high-quality lectures and tutorials on professional spatial data analysis, and secondly to support international collaboration, international participants will be supported financially regarding their travel and accomodation expenses (see registration for more information).

The summer school teaches advanced geospatial techniques for analyzing and predicting global change phenomena on the command line in a fully reproducible workflow. This includes predictive modeling using statistical and machine learning techniques (see program for more detailed information). We will exclusively use open-source software (R, Python, GDAL, QGIS, etc.).
